Jeff Ifrah Quoted in Barron’s on Prediction Markets and the Sports Betting Industry

Barron’s recently published an article regarding Kalshi and other prediction market platforms that are offering federally regulated “event contracts” across all 50 states, circumventing traditional state gambling regulations and transforming the sports betting space.

Jeff Ifrah explained, “I fully expect that by the time the NFL season kicks off and certainly before next year’s Super Bowl, we are going to see a handful of current sports betting operators offering CFTC regulated products.”

During March Madness alone, Kalshi facilitated $208 million in trades through binary options that function similarly to sports betting but are classified as financial products.
