Andrew Snell

Andrew Snell took an unconventional path into the law, trading life as an accomplished professional cellist for a career in online gaming law. At Ifrah Law, Andrew serves as Compliance Counsel, reviewing licensing and commercial agreements and advising on the complex regulatory compliance requirements that vary across U.S. markets.

Andrew’s interest in gaming law was sparked while working in-house at an online casino operator in Malta, where he discovered a passion for iGaming’s blend of commercial pace and regulatory complexity. Looking to broaden his experience beyond an in-house perspective and to focus more deeply on the U.S. market, Andrew joined Ifrah Law, drawn by the firm’s reputation as a leading boutique in the online gambling space.

Prior to joining Ifrah Law, Andrew spent nearly two years at Videoslots Ltd, trading as Immense Group, a Malta-headquartered online casino group and winner of Online Slot Operator of the Year at the 2026 International iGaming Awards. As Acting Legal & Compliance Manager, he led the department’s contentious matters — including safer gambling and license territory disputes — instructing external counsel across proceedings in Europe. His work spanned a range of matters, including successful license applications, commercial negotiations, AML investigation, risk management, and regulator-facing work across the UK, EU, and North America.

Andrew began his legal career as a paralegal at Mills & Co Solicitors, a maritime and international trade law firm, before joining Gunnercooke LLP, where he supported technology contracts and commercial litigation matters.

Andrew earned his LLM from Durham University, with a dissertation on the regulation of artificial intelligence in the U.S. and EU, and holds a Graduate Diploma in Law with Distinction and a Legal Practice Certificate with Commendation from the University of Law. He read Music at the University of Oxford where he won both an academic and music scholarship, graduating with First Class Honours, and remains a classically trained cellist, having served as Co-Principal Cellist of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
