Katie Kovalsky

ASSOCIATE

"Every case is a system with moving parts. My job is to understand each one and keep them working together."

Overview

Katie Kovalsky brings a distinctive blend of legal training, operational experience, and investigative focus to her work on complex litigation and government enforcement matters. Her path to private practice has included experience in government, the federal judiciary, and large-firm litigation, as well as several years in supply chain operations before law school—background that informs her practical, detail-driven approach to legal problem-solving.

Katie joins Ifrah Law after a year and a half at Duane Morris, where she worked on matters involving civil and criminal enforcement investigations and complex commercial litigation. There, she helped coordinate responses to government subpoenas and played a central role in managing written and electronic discovery. Her work required navigating large volumes of information, coordinating investigative efforts, and ensuring compliance with demanding government deadlines.

Earlier in her legal training, Katie gained insight into both government decision-making and appellate review. As a Legal Extern in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel, she researched issues affecting state agencies, drafted legal memoranda, and reviewed materials to assess privilege and relevance in pending litigation. She also served as a Judicial Extern to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, where she assisted in preparing bench memoranda and draft opinions. That experience provided a close look at how appellate judges evaluate lower-court decisions and what distinguishes a persuasive legal argument.

Before entering the legal profession, Katie worked in supply chain management, first regional area manager at an Amazon fulfillment center, and later as a supply chain analyst for a manufacturing company. This experience sharpened her ability to manage complex processes, coordinate large-scale operations, and focus on execution—skills she now brings to litigation and investigative work.

Katie earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. She was inducted into the Order of the Coif, served on the Villanova Law Review, and received the Dorothy Day Award for pro bono service. During law school, she worked as a Certified Legal Attorney with the Caritas Clemency Clinic, which assists incarcerated individuals seeking compassionate release under reforms enacted through the First Step Act.
