Kim Conroy
SENIOR COUNSEL
"Clients value the depth of knowledge and care that my team and I bring to every legal matter."
Overview
Kim Conroy brings first-chair experience and strategic acumen to high-stakes litigation, representing investment firms, hedge funds, financial institutions, corporations and high-net-worth individuals in a wide range of complex disputes. Her practice encompasses securities litigation, fraud actions and intricate business matters, with a distinguished track record in bet-the-company cases. She has extensive experience handling large-scale disputes in state and federal civil and bankruptcy courts at the trial and appellate levels, as well as in arbitration. Kim’s multifaceted practice extends to conducting internal investigations and managing sophisticated electronic discovery challenges, including cross-border e-discovery compliance.  She has also distinguished herself through impactful pro bono work, serving as lead counsel on multiple representations that advance access to justice.
Beyond client representation, Kim devotes significant time to cultivating the next generation of legal talent, mentoring associates and sharing strategic insights gained from over two decades at a leading New York law firm. Her commitment to public service runs equally deep. She has served on the Boards of the Puerto Rican Bar Association and Directions For Our Youth, a Bronx-based nonprofit organization that provides quality out-of-school and in-school programming for young people in underserved communities across New York City. She was also instrumental in organizing a Latin Dance Party fundraiser at The Copacabana in Manhattan, raising significant funds for Puerto Ricans after the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria, in coordination with the Hispanic National Bar Association – Region II, Long Island Hispanic Bar Association, Latino Lawyers’ Association of Queens County and Dominican Bar Association.
Some of Kim’s representative matters include:
- Secured a pathbreaking preliminary injunction in the District of Alaska enjoining the U.S. government from assessing penalties for alleged Jones Act violations while the legality of already assessed penalties was adjudicated, ultimately resulting in favorable settlement on behalf of major international shipping clients.
- Represented an investment banking firm in restructuring a $2 billion investment in the telecommunications sector, including related litigation brought against a major telecommunications client and the FCC.
- Represented multiple Norwegian municipalities in a fraud and negligent misrepresentation action against major financial entities concerning the sale and marketing of derivative products.
