Overview
Steven Hess brings a unique blend of economic insight and legal expertise to his practice, providing him with a keen understanding of not just the legal frameworks that govern markets, but also the economic forces that shape them.
Prior to joining Ifrah Law, Steven practiced at an international law firm, where he collaborated on active litigation matters, conducted depositions, and advised clients on complex financial documents and regulatory compliance issues. His experience also included monitoring developments in international trade and scrutinizing tax and regulatory laws for multinational companies.
Previously, Steven served as an attorney for U.S. Customs & Border Protection, where he was responsible for updating the Agency’s regulations governing businesses. As part of the process, he navigated the regulatory landscape and engaged key stakeholders both in the private sector and government.
During law school at George Washington University, Steven served as Articles Editor for the George Washington Law Review, and was also the Founder and President of the Administrative Law Society. His exceptional academic performance earned him membership in the Order of the Coif, and he graduated with highest honors in the top three percent of his class. He gained valuable litigation experience through work on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and developed understanding of the legislative process while working for a Member of Congress.
