Michelle Cohen Quoted in Bloomberg Law on Facebook Data Scandals

In the wake of numerous Facebook data issues, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that they are “investing heavily in both privacy and security. We now have more than 20,000 people working to keep people safe and protect their information.” According to the news site, The Information, it appears that Facebook might be purchasing a cybersecurity company. Facebook declined to comment on this to Bloomberg Law.
Michelle Cohen, Chair of Ifrah Law’s Data Privacy & Cyber Security practice group spoke with Bloomberg Law and noted, “Regulators would review the acquisition as a proactive measure,” she said. “The acquisition of additional cybersecurity experts would reflect favorably on Facebook in terms of future compliance and demonstrates good faith and proactive efforts going forward.”
